Looking to join the rest of New England in the 2016 election, Connecticut has several bills in the legislature that would Legalize Cannabis use for adult residents and regulate the industry. In a Quinnipiac University poll, 63% of Connecticut citizens surveyed said they would be in favor of legalizing the possession of small amounts of cannabis for adults. The state did decriminalized marijuana use in 2011, saying that any possession up to a half of an ounce would have a maximum penalty of a $150 fine and could not be punishable by jail time.
